I recommend this Introduction to Sinamay Course as a must have for anyone wanting to work with sinamay on any level.  It will give you a proper foundation of learning about the fabric, how it behaves, and what the possibilities with it are. 

Don't be worried if you can't sew, I'm not a great sewer either, and I had no sewing experience when I started this career. I am completely self taught when it comes to using a needle and thread. Once you can hold a needle in your hand and understand that you will have to push it up and down through fabric, that's all you need to know to complete this course. You will improve as you go.

What you will need:

• Sinamay (at least a metre)
• Needle and Thread
• A scissors
• An iron
• A Band (a thin metal one is preferable, but a plastic one will do for this course)
